Pongal
PONGAL is one of the very many Indian public holidays. Many Indians work 7 days a week. On the other hand, public holidays are respected, everything is closed in India except for a few tea kiosks.
For 4 days, in southern India, it’s party time and parades or entertainment in the streets.
The cows, which circulate freely in the cities and the countryside, are decorated with ribbons, trinkets and the horns are painted.
