Auroville
Auroville is world famous. You will find all the information on the internet. Auroville is a dream born of the “Mother” and Sri Aurobindo. This dream has run out of steam but nevertheless survives. The ideal city was planned for 50,000 inhabitants. 5O years after its creation, the city has 3,000 Aurovillians.

The center of Auroville is occupied by a sphere accessible after a one kilometer path. This path is paved by the stones describing the qualities necessary to become an Aurovillian. And, each quality is symbolized by a flower.

To settle in Auroville, it is necessary to acquire Aurovillian citizenship. It is a long and complicated journey. You must first reside for a year in Auroville, then you must have a project and the means to finance it and finally, at the end of the course, citizenship is granted or refused by a committee which judges whether the person and the project correspond to the Aurovillian criteria.
Entering the restricted circle of Aurovillians is therefore not easy….
Getting out of it is even more complicated, practically impossible without leaving feathers there.
